The Murder of Mr Muster, 2020
Oil on canvas

£ 4,200.00
The red painting is perhaps one of my favourite pieces in the gallery. It took me a long time to look away from it, simply because of how captivating it is. In fact, it is similar to an idea I had in the first semester that I could not execute properly. However, this piece is almost reminiscent of it in its conception, and complete in its execution. The way the entire painting is depicted in a wash of red is stunning. The murder of Mr. Muster has a woman on a horse, and she’s leading another horse without a rider. The pet dog is with her, riding in front of her. She holds the reigns. The estate is in the background and yet she is on higher ground, and while we know it’s a big estate that she probably owns, she remains the main subject, and even the opulence of the estate is merely a cut in the picture.
