Letterpress

For the letterpress, we had to set the type for the two pages separately. Since there is only one Vandercook, we jigsaw puzzled the type for the first page and to do that we had to put it as close to the position as possible, and then take a test print. Using a light table, we lined up the test print with a print of the design that I had gotten on basic copier paper to get the position right. We went through 4 tests before getting the placement perfect.

After a few days, I came back to print on the screen printed pages. I mixed the ink and printed it on the pages. After we finished with the first page we set the type for the second page. For this, we needed 3 test prints. After that we printed on the second page. The second page was harder because we had to move a few prints around. I didn't realise that one of the prints I was using was the wrong one. Other than that the prints came out really well.

The letterpress looks absolutely beautiful on the Himalayan paper.
