I'm looking at artists' books to once again try and see what I could make that would fit this book best. Marco suggested that I work with one chapter or one section of the text to make it a manageable project.
Sculptural books are interesting to me because they're part of a larger whole that tells a story altogether, and each separate page could yet still tell a story. I was playing with the idea of making a tree with the pages of the book. Something layered and large, trees are a big theme in the book as the Main Character's first power is originated from a tree, being perhaps his most important power as well.
Single Sheet books are so interesting because the book would have to be made up of a single sheet that told the story. That would be a possible idea as the story of TCF, or the Birth of a Hero, tells the story of the ancient times, of Kim Rok Soo's original world and of Cale's adventures all from his journey in the current. There are mostly no flashbacks or segues to the past, but rather he uncovers the story as he goes on forward.
An Accordion book could be similar to the single sheet book, except the form is slightly different.
